A wonderful success story from our friends at Service Dogs UK. Find out all about them and what they do in this heart warming blog.
This is 1 year old Buddy who was down on his luck earlier this year and found himself in rescue at the Dogs Trust. He was assessed and adopted by Service Dogs UK and after a short period in foster moved in with his veteran in April. Buddy is on a 9 to 12 month intensive training programme to become an assistance dog for his veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
All of the dogs here at SDUK are fed on Paleo Ridge and I’m sure you will agree that Buddy is a shining example.
Service Dogs UK trains and provides assistance dogs to support members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services who have PTSD. We mainly use dogs from rescue centres to achieve unique partnerships that will greatly enhance the lives of both. We continue to support the partnerships as part of our ongoing commitment to 'those that serve', past or present.
We raise awareness of PTSD as a significant danger to our veterans by our activities and by education. We are also committed to research and develop ways of improving the lives of our injured service people through interaction with dogs and the therapeutic benefits that they provide.
Buddy is giving me my life back, he doesn’t judge and is by my side everywhere day and night
