Immune Support: Where to Start?

The first step to take is to ensure your furry friend is eating a natural, raw-feeding diet. Good quality, raw dog food contains a wealth of natural vitamins and minerals with no additives or unnecessary ingredients.

Much like ourselves, processed foods and toxic chemicals will compromise the immune system. Limiting or removing these completely will make a big difference to your dogs' health physically and mentally.

When making a change in lifestyle, the best place to start is the gut. The gut is home to 70% of the immune system, this is why it is SO important to limit toxic and unnecessary ingredients.

O-mazing Organs

Organ meats are essential for your dog's diet. They are packed full of goodness, in fact, they are more nutrient dense than muscle meat!

Offal is packed full of B vitamins including Vitamin B12 which is essential for healthy cell production. Healthy cells are vital for the immune system, which is why this ingredient is a must have in your dog's diet.

If you feed our complete meals, they contain 10% of organ meats. If you are looking to create your own meals for your furry friend, our DIY Mixed Species Offal Mince is the perfect addition. A great mix of kidneys and liver, packed with nutrients and minerals.

Exercise

It goes without saying that exercise is key for a healthy, tip top immune system. It has been proven that those who live a sedentary lifestyle are more prone to illnesses and even a shorter lifespan. This goes for both dogs and humans!

Exercise is vital as dog's are naturally active. Being active is good for all systems in the body, especially the lymphatic system, exercise stimulates this and allows it to filter toxins from your dog's body.

Most importantly, it gets the blood flowing! Blood transports oxygen around the body via red blood cells so the more activity, the more oxygen is transported increasing energy levels and overall health.

Superfood Additions

There are plenty of superfoods out there suitable for your dog. We produce a potent mix of antioxidant superfoods called Berry Good. This mix includes:

🍇 Blueberries

🍇 Blackberries

🍇 Broccoli

🍇 Seaweed

🍇 Kale

🍇 Organic Hemp Seed Powder

🍇 Green Lipped Mussel

Each of the above ingredients packs a strong nutritious punch. This mix is antioxidant, meaning it helps to fight against free radicals in the body and therefore, boosting your dog's immune system.

Another great superfood is tripe. Tripe is packed full of digestive enzymes which help to support a healthy gut. A healthy gut, as we mentioned before, supports a healthy immune system. It is a natural probiotic!
