As Technical Manager, you will oversee all technical activities in the business. This includes day to day compliancy against standards and processes as well as working with the senior management team to develop and execute a robust and aligned strategy. You will oversee the companies ethical sourcing policy and lead the audits carried out in the business. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and highly motivated to continue driving the technical agenda of the company. Paleo Ridge is the UK’s most accredited Raw Dog Food business and has earned this title through constant development and raising of standards, which the technical manager will need to continue to

Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day duties of the Technical department and management of the growing technical team
  • Managing training of the technical team and technical training of site colleagues
  • Working with Senior management to focus on opportunities for improvement and enhancement of current standards
  • Overseeing the day to day compliancy of the factory
  • Conducting internal audits and leading external audits
  • Implementing processes from initial concept through to establishment
  • Creating and writing processes and training documents
  • Helping implement new processes and standards throughout production and wider operation
  • Working alongside Supply Chain to report on supplier performance
  • Management of governing bodies and regulation compliance
  • Management of microbiological and environmental sampling and testing schedule
  • Ensuring the HACCP system is adhered to and managing site audit schedules to ensure compliance

Required/Preferred skills:

  • FMCG and food manufacturing experience
  • A proven track record in quality in UK manufacturing
  • Experience working in a fast paced, growing company
  • Working inside tight deadlines
  • People management experience
  • Proactive approach to communication
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Great communication and leadership skills
  • Food hygiene experience
