Job Description – Planning team leader

Paleo Ridge is looking for a talented, experienced and driven Planner or Planning team leader to join our award-winning business.

Paleo Ridge was established in 2014 and has been on an incredible journey to become our industry’s leader in high quality, raw dog food, widely renowned as offering the highest quality raw pet food products available on the market today. Alongside this, we have become well known for our ethical stance and environmental focus, innovating at every junction. We are now looking for a highly motivated, focused and goal oriented individual to join our wonderful team.

You will be the first Planning team leader hire in our small, but rapidly growing business and will work closely with the Head of Supply Chain and leadership team, promoting the company’s values, products and services, as well as driving new business.

Although there will be some scope to work from home part of the time, you must be able to commute to Waterlooville, Hampshire for at least the first six months and on a regular basis following this time.

Responsibilities will include:

· Day to day leading of our team of Demand and Supply Planners, focused on developing our talent

· Manage flows of communications, both within the organisation and with external stakeholders and suppliers

· Review and improve planning processes

· Support the growth of the Procurement function, through working with the Supply Chain team on various cost saving and efficiency projects

· Uncovering efficiencies within operational planning

· Defining and managing planning performance KPIs

· Optimising the availability of raw materials required for Production

· Attending supplier visits and building key relationships with future providers

· Provide regular reporting to the leadership team

· Work with our Technical teams to evaluate new products

· Monitoring supplier relationships and working with Head of Supply Chain, to ensure supplier management tools are effective

  • Strategise and forecast, ensuring all key stakeholders are involved and aligned
  • Defining and reviewing inventory, while ensuring consideration is shown to throughput and one site capacity
  • Working with the finance team to understand performance
  • Managing budgets

Must have skills and experience:

· Minimum 3 years’ experience within an FMCG planning role, ideally at Team Leader level

· Food manufacturing experience preferred

· Ability to effectively influence and negotiate

· Excellent time management

· People management experience

· Able to identify problems and apply fixes, without impacting the wider business

· Drive to take goals through to completion

· Excellent communicator

· Highly analytical, with the ability to manage complexity

· Advanced Excel skills

· Previous experience of working with ERP systems

· Tangible experience of either Demand, Inventory, Transport, Forecasting or Materials planning

· Proven track record of driving change and new processes through continuous improvement and project management

· Manufacturing experience and experience of Lean methodology

· Ability to prioritise workload effectively
